Internationally known counselor and educator, Danielle Arca has been serving the educational needs of students and families around the globe for over two decades. Not only is she an expert in college admissions, coaching high school students in all aspects of the college admissions process, she is the student’s advertising agent — combining a proven track record of success with her intuition and creativity to uncover the innate gifts in every student, marketing those talents to colleges and increasing a student’s chance of admission.

Her background also allows her to incorporate comprehensive guidance counseling services into the college process. Danielle’s expertise as a counselor spans the middle school, high school and college level. Also setting her apart are her genuine rapport with students and parents, her multilingualism, and her experience as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor helping families work through personal challenges often encountered during the college process.

EXPERIENCE

  • Danielle founded Riviera's first Counseling Department, overseeing 300 students in grades 6 through 12. She developed a dynamic program addressing academics, personal and social development, career exploration and the college application process. She wrote a monthly newsletter, managed the school’s community service requirement, served as AP Coordinator, Test Center Supervisor for the SAT and ACT, Head Coach for the Girls Volleyball Teams, and taught Yoga as part of the Physical Education curriculum.

    Danielle facilitated the holistic development of 140 students per grade in grades 9 - 12 through academic, career, and college admission counseling; individual and group personal and crisis counseling; referrals to community professionals; scheduling; course and level placement of new students; monitoring of graduation requirements; student-teacher and parent-teacher conflict mediation/resolution; monitoring and implementing of intervention strategies for academically at-risk students; processing extended time requests and appeals for school-based and standardized testing; coordinating and supervising PLAN and PSAT administrations; freshman, sophomore, junior and senior seminars; incoming freshman family conferences; junior family college conferences; speaking at parent functions; faculty training workshops.

  • Danielle provided individual counseling, crisis intervention, educational planning, academic advisement, career development, and test administration/interpretation; facilitated workshops for students, staff, and community: How to be Healthy without Going to the Gym & Stress Management; taught Strategies for College Success, Personal Development for Latinas (in Spanish), Career Exploration, College Orientation and Personal Growth, Study Skills Development, Building Self-Esteem; conducted placement exam seminars and new student orientation; designed “Express Yourself” outreach workshops to international and African-American students and student-athletes; promoted student recruitment and retention; developed departmental and campus programs; performed conflict mediation/ resolution; wrote articles for campus publication; facilitated Strategic Conversation at Maricopa County Community College District Governing Board Meeting.
